Our team of professional instructors stem from a variety of dance backgrounds, hailing from an international dance experience.They are winners of many competitions, finalists who own unique method of teaching standard ballroom and Latin dance programs.

Nikolay Smodlev and Anna Smodleva are owners of the Dance DNA Academy and accomplished dancers, impassioned about passing on their skills to their students. They utilize all of their skills and expertise to make dancing a very gratifying and successful experience. They have earned many certificates of merit and diplomas from the Russian and Moscow Dance Sport Federations regarding European and Latin Dance Programs. Nikolay and Anna have received many letters of acknowledgement for aesthetic education and physical development of children and adults, and they were a coaches for over twelve years for the Moscow Dance Sport Federation. They were also organizers of many open inter-regional competitions. Anna and Nikolay are professionals dancing at the highest level in both Latin and Ballroom programs for six years, and were successfully competing for last twenty years in National and International competitions. Nikolay certified teacher of Moscow Dancesport Federation since 2008, also he certified from Russian Dance Sport Federation “Professional” with level Associate in standard and latin. Since 2011 he holds Adjudicator licenses in several dance sport organizations which are Canadian Dancesport Federation (CDF), World Dance Council (WDC), Ukrainian Dance Sport Association (UDSA), World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF) in standard, latin, American Smooth, American Rhythm. Anna is also certified dance teacher from Moscow Dance Sport Federation (MFTS) since 2008, also she certified from
Russian Dance Sport Federation “Professional” with level Associate in both Latin and Standard. Since 2011 she holds Adjudicator licenses in World Dance Council (WDC), Ukrainian Dance Sport Association (UDSA), World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF) in standard, latin, American Smooth, American Rhythm.
Daniel Studenny is a dancer and teacher who has been dancing since he was able to walk. Dance itself has always been a part of his life, and so the love and enjoyment of movement and music have been as well. He is an accomplished and experienced Ten Dancer, including all of the Ballroom and Latin dances as well as many extras such as Salsa, Bachata, Merengue etc. As a teacher, he has the experience of instructing different ages, levels, and wide ranges of different people. From children, teenagers, adults, and seniors which have ranged from social dancers, wedding dancers, beginners, as well as at the highest competitive level. He is very personalized and adapts to each and every student, combined with his patience and loving enjoyment of dancing, each lesson is as productive as it is exciting. Alex Maslanka has been dancing since the age of 7 where he started off as a competitive studio and ballroom dancer in Windsor, Canada. In high school, Alex wanted to do more things with dancing so he moved out to Toronto to expand his training. Alex trained day to day in all styles including hip-hop, ballet and ballroom and he graduated high school with a regional arts program diploma. In 2013, he was given a title of “Tremaine National Dancer of the Year”. Since then, Alex is a part of a North American tour dance company “Tremaine Performance Company” where he performs, assists and trains from professional dancers and choreographers from big screen movies and T.V shows such as “Step Up”, “So you think you can dance” and many more. Some of his film and television experience include; Step up 5 and Tremaine dance Promo on “The Daily Buzz” as well as appearing in Emma- Lee’s music video “Figure It Out”. Competing as a ballroom dancer he has achieved many titles such as North American Junior Latin Champion, standard and 10-dance Canadian representative in the World Championships, and finalist in many North American competitions. Currently he is going to pursue his studies and training in dance at York University where he was accepted with the Talent Scholarship.
Vanessa Sturino has been dancing competitively since the age of 7. She is trained in Acro, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Modern and Hip-Hop. She has achieved numerous 1st Overall and High Scoring National awards in Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, Atlantic City, Florida, and California. Vanessa graduated from St. Elizabeth Catholic High School in the Regional Arts Program in Dance in 2015 with honours and received Awards of Excellence from her teachers and peers. She is currently attending York University earning her degree in the Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Dance and is also in the Faculty of Education Program. Vanessa was invited to be apart of the USTD Acrobatic Dance Team and has performed at Madison Square Gardens in New York City. She is currently working with A2D2, an Aerial Dance Cirque Company, where she performs acrobatics at various charitable and corporate events. Vanessa enjoys sharing her love for dance and is looking forward to teaching others.
Maria Petina is a professional ballerina with over 10 years of experience in Toronto, New York City and Moscow. Finalist of multiple international ballet competitions including Youth America Grand Prix, Beijing International Competition. Trained under the supervision of Michel Baryshnikov for 3 years in NYC, before being scouted to train at Moscow’s Bolshoi Ballet. Maria studied choreography and principles of pedagogy while in Moscow, and finished her dance education upon return in York University, Toronto. Now she is a proud faculty member at Dance DNA.
Mark and Svetlana Bromberg are the ballroom teachers at Dance DNA Academy and as a dance couple they have been representing Israel and Canada on the international competition for many years, and now they share their extended experience in the ballroom Dancing with their students at Dance DNA Academy. They are available for private and group classes for kids all ages and levels!
Inessa Rolix is one of the Dance DNA teachers in Latin program, she has a big experience in teaching kids all levels and ages. Available for private lessons.
